Last year when the Overwatch League started, I was excited for it. While I am not a huge eSports fan, I do want to see eSports continue to grow. I followed it regularly until the Winter Olympics started and I lost interest after that. I checked in every few weeks until the end of the season and while I found it interesting I never was overly impressed with it.
When season two started this week I started to watch it again, watching all of the first day, most of the second day and part of the third day. After watching the first week of the second season, I still see the same issues I had with the first season. While I do like the presentation, I feel the announcers do not do enough to explain the meta game and why certain heroes are picked constantly over others. You almost need to have an idea how the current game is played in order to understand what the players are doing. If you are a current player this probably isn’t a problem. However, someone like me who doesn’t play often was a little lost when I was watching on the first day. As far as PC gaming I have been playing a lot of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Soul Calibur VI and some random indie games. On mobile I have been mostly sticking to Dragon Ball Legends. Also got around to playing some NES games for a Top Ten List I am posting later in the week. Everyone have a good week. Comments are closed.
