Weekly Update:  4/24/2019

4/24/2019

This week it has mostly been about Mortal Kombat 11.  While I am probably going to do a review of the game soon, I'll give my impression of the game after putting 10 hours into it.  Overall I am enjoying the game.  The story was good and it kept me entertained until the end.  This is probably one of the more easy Mortal Kombat games to get into.  Even someone like me who is not great at fighting games can play this game and have fun with it.

While I am seeing a lot of criticism online for different aspects of the game, especially the micro-transactions, I feel most of it is being blown up to be a bigger issue than it is.  Everything that is being sold in the in-game shop for real money can be found in the game.  Granted, it might take you awhile to find what you are looking for but the option is there.  The fact that the game feels like it was designed to played for hundreds of hours to unlock everything or spend real money does not bother me.  It makes me want to keep playing the game and it makes it that much better when I finally do get the item I want.

As anyone who reads these blog posts knows, I play a lot of mobile games.  They fit better into my busy lifestyle and I enjoy them.  And to be honest I rarely spend a lot of money in them.  I understand that most of the time you can get what you want by just playing the game.  Same principle applies to Mortal Kombat 11.  It is the player's responsibility to be responsible and to use self control when wanting to constantly spend real money on items that can be found in game for free.

The game does have some problems like game crashes and the living towers.  I only had two game crashes on PC in 10 hours of play and both came from the character customization screen.  Now I have been a PC gamer for almost 25 years now and I am fully aware that games crash on PC and patches need to be released to address issues.  However, I have to question how many of these issues are real QA issues missed during testing and how many are from people thinking they know what they are doing and screwing around with settings they shouldn't have.  I loaded the game up, changed nothing from the initial setup and the game looks and plays great.  I also find the living towers to be a little too challenging, but again I am not the best at fighting games so this could very well go back to my lack of skill.

Besides Mortal Kombat 11, I have been playing Mortal Kombat Mobile and a lot of Raid:  Shadow Legends.  Raid: Shadow Legends has been fun, but they try real hard to get you to spend money.  Ultimately this may become the games downfall but the game is still kinda new so time will tell.

Everyone have a good week.

This was a slightly better week for gaming.  I spent most of my time playing mobile games with a focus on Mortal Kombat Mobile and Raid:  Shadow Legends.  At this point I am just waiting  until Mortal Kombat 11 comes out next week.  Besides that I am doing some work behind the scenes here on the site.  Nothing major though, just some clean up work.

Everyone have a good week.

Another quiet week as far as gaming.  Most of my gaming as been focused on mobile with Mortal Kombat Mobile and Raid:  Shadow Legends taking up most of my time.  I was able to start playing Secret of Mana on the PC with my brother and that has been a lot of fun so far.  We also tried the tag team ladder in Mortal Kombat 9 and also had fun with that.  Besides that I have been playing Rainbow Six Siege on PC.

Everyone have a good week.

Weekly Update:  4/2/2019

4/2/2019

Not much going on this week.  Besides playing Mortal Kombat mobile, I had very little time for gaming.  Speaking of Mortal Kombat, most of the content on the site this month is going to be Mortal Kombat related due to Mortal Kombat 11 coming out near the end of the month.  Hopefully I will get some more gaming in over the coming weekend.

Everyone have a good week.
