Vertical Runner is the classic example of a simple game. Now being a simple game is not a bad thing if you are looking for a quick pickup and play game. The game uses a simple black background and while lines which are lanes. You are the little white square which you can only move up and down between the lanes. The game moves you forward on its own and your goal is to dodge any white lines that show up in front of you. That is the whole game.
The game scores you from when you start until you hit a wall. When you hit a wall the game is over. The game does have a leaderboard that shows you the top ten player scores. The game is fun in short bursts of five to ten minutes. While that is not what some people are looking for in a game, the game does do a good job at being a good pickup and play game.
