Ar first glance Pixel Zombie looks like a simple game. Zombies come down the screen, you click on them to kill them, let three reach the bottom and you die. And this is all that you do in the game. So yes, the game is a simple one. But this is one that while I got a little frustrated with, I still enjoyed.
Each of the games twenty stages plays out the same. Waves of zombie come down and all you do is click on them to kill them. Each stage has multiple waves which as the game goes on includes different zombies such as ones that move fast and ones that teleport. There are also survivors that are mixed into the zombies who are supposed to make it to the end of the screen. Clicking on one of them kills you instantly. From what I can tell every time you play a stage the makeup of zombies and survivors in the wave is the same but how they come down the screen is different.
This is a short game with it taking about an hour to beat all the stages. The game looks and sounds alright but combined with the simple gameplay this is a game with little replay value. I had no problem getting a three star rating on all stages up until stage fifteen and even then if I focused a little bit more I’m sure I can easily get top marks in all the levels. And even if I did, all I can tell from doing that is that you get an achievement.
The only thing that bothered me was many times in my attempt to click everything on the screen I would kill a survivor and have to start over. But that is a player issue and not a game issue. Overall I did enjoy the game for what it is. Just know that there is not much here.
