Pros
A decent take on a Defender style game. The game provides a good challenge at later levels Cons No real replay value once you play it a few times Would benefit from an online Leaderboard |

Invaliens is a great example of a Defenders style game. The game puts you in the cockpit of a spaceship with your only goal to destroy everything that shows up on screen. Unlike Defenders, you don’t have to rescue colonists on the ground. But you still have the same forward and backwards movement along with the mini map on the bottom of the screen. As far as movement and combat, this is pretty spot on to Defender.
Each level has enemies spawn on the map which you must destroy. All enemies that spawn must be destroyed and these enemies vary from basic enemies that just float around to ones that shoot projectiles at you. Leaving enemies alive too long will let them evolve and get stronger. Fruit items will also spawn and collecting these gives you a super charge that when used destroys everything around you. Each level becomes progressively harder with more enemies and once you lose all your lives the game is over.
The game looks and sounds decent. Nothing outstanding, but the graphics and sounds work for this game. The biggest problem I have with this game is that there isn’t much to do in it. There is a high score you can aim for, but without an online leaderboard it is pretty pointless. If there is an end to the game, I’m probably never going to see it.
This is not a bad game, far from it. This is a Defenders style game and it does a very good job playing like one. The controls, movement and starship attacks are very reminiscent of it. So if you want to see an example of a simple Defender style game this game is good for that. If you are looking for more you will be disappointed.
